Last installment here, this is really a commentary overview of everything I’ve been telling you on Google Places. There’s a lot of factors that will increase your coverage.
1. Having your own website with the keywords and Meta tags done right, Google verified, submitted to as many search engines as you can
Can I ask a favor? I need some reviews written for Phillips Software myself, go to google, type in “web design templeton ca”. You are looking for Paso Robles Web Design. There’s a little down arrow next to the listing, click on it, then click on write review. Write something nice please…. Do you mind?
2. Create a Google Adword account – (I’ll cover more detail later) that advertises the site you have in Google Places. Use the advanced features of Google Adwords to cover
only the local search area you have in your local listings. These keywords used in the ad help Google figure out where to list you in Google Place searches
3. Have lots of people rate your listing, as many as you can
4. Having more than one Google places listing adding some variation to the whole set of listing
5. Search for what your local competition has been doing, look at their listings, join any index services they may have joined. For example if you have an air conditioning
repair service, there are lots of sites that have directories of AC repair services. Some cost, some don’t, but join the free ones.
If you are diligent and do as much of all this as you can, you will literally own your local market on Google. Case in point if you don’t believe me. A friend of mine
has a heating and air conditioning service in Paso Robles. Go to Google and type in “ac repair paso robles ca” He is #1. try typing in any variation of ac repair, heater repair, HVAC
contractor, whatever you can think of. He had to do some of this work, like the verifications and such, but I did the rest. The really cool and amazing thing about all this is that it took about 3-5 months to really get listed everywhere, his Google Adwords account is less than $50/month and the rest of this was absolutely free.
